Introduction

To Hear and Obey

In this day and age there are many voices clamoring to be heard. Everyone has an answer and an opinion. But what if there were only one voice to be heard? Only one opinion? I along with other like minded people have been seeking, knocking and asking. For a surety there are two voices speaking in the world today. One voice is saying "take your life in your own hands as you see your own needs". The other voice is saying "give up your life, follow me, give me control of your life". The first voice mentioned here seems to be the most popular. So the obvious decision here is to hear the second voice "give up your life" and go with the minority. For with this voice if we follow will lead to a very narrow road. This road is not the scenic route either. Most maps will tell you that it doesn't even exist. In fact if you travel this path everyone around you will do everything in their power to get you off of it. I sincerely hope you have already made a decision to take this road, and since so few choose it may we see each other often in the fellowship on it. If you have not made this decision I pray that you would follow this journey. Shalom, Chris

Prayer

22 years ago I became a believer in Yahshua Ha Mashiach. I still remember the first question I asked in regards to the scriptures. It was about the early believers in the book of Acts.

Act 2:45 and sold their possessions and property, and divided them among all, as anyone might have need.
Act 2:46 And day by day, continuing with one mind in the Set-apart Place, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart,
Act 2:47 praising Elohim and having favour with all the people. And the Master added to the assembly those who were being saved, day by day.

My question was "why don't we do this now". I was told that was for that time in history, thats all it is history. I didn't believe the answer then and I don't believe it applies now. Just as sure as we live in a world that is full of every imaginable pleasure, comfort or philosophy, the same was present in that time. We just have more technology so we can sin faster! Why within the "church" do we have so many doctrines and different teachings. Yes some of us have returned to "The Torah", but so many of us disagree on so many different levels. I think that something is wrong here. In fact our Messiah must have the same idea for He prayed in the book of John this,

Joh 17:11 “And I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Set-apart Father, guard them in Your Name which You have given Me, so that they might be one, as We are.
Joh 17:21 so that they all might be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You, so that they too might be one in Us, so that the world might believe that You have sent Me.
Joh 17:22 “And the esteem which You gave Me I have given them, so that they might be one as We are one,
Joh 17:23 “I in them, and You in Me, so that they might be perfected into one, so that the world knows that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me

So obviously from our Messiah's mouth he is praying that we would be "echad" or one.

אֶחָד
echad

1) one (number)

a) one (number)

b) each, every

c) a certain

d) an (indefinite article)

e) only, once, once for all

f) one...another, the one...the other, one after another, one by one

g) first

h) eleven (in combination), eleventh (ordinal)

If we go back a few verses in the 2nd chapter of acts there is a recipe for what our Messiah was praying for. We can see that it worked for the early believers and YHWH blessed them.

Act 2:42 And they were continuing steadfastly in the teaching of the emissaries, and in the fellowship, and in the breaking of bread, and in the prayers.
Act 2:43 And fear came upon every being, and many wonders and signs were being done through the emissaries.
Act 2:44 And all those who believed were together, and had all in common,
Act 2:45 and sold their possessions and property, and divided them among all, as anyone might have need.

May we as the time of YHWH'S fall feasts approach consider and do these things in scripture that if we may, hasten the coming of our beloved Messiah. In prayer one of the greatest gifts given to men.
Shalom, Chris
